Name's officially Kouyou, but most people know me as Uruha, so I generally go by that.
I was born and raised in Japan but since the last year or so I travel back and forth between the United States (and various other countries depending on where the lady goes for her work) and Japan for private life and working life.

In Japan I work as a musician, lead guitarist for the GazettE to be exact. And you could say that music is pretty much my life. Lady calls me "Kou the Heavy Metal Rainbow Duck" for a reason, after all. Which does betray my favorite genre of music, I admit. It's a curse.

I don't have a favorite song myself because I like way too many (and I reference way too many for that matter), but my music player seems to land on this song way too often, and it always makes me smile.

Since I don't write music for others, do you write a song with a certain artist in mind beforehand, or do you just see where it ends up and what they sound like performing it?

I'm merely curious, since well, like I said, all stuff that my fellow band-mates or me make stays within our group. And while I have done collaborations with other artists that was made by them and them alone. I just followed their guitar tabs, which is something entirely different than vocal lines.

I got off the smoking thing a few years ago, although I still do it occasionally. I think I was more of a professional booze tester than anything else back then though, haha. God how I wish someone would gift me a huge bottle of Chandon again. Even though I downed that in one evening and was pretty drunk afterwards. Whoops.

Hi, Uruha. What does that mean in English? I'm Ashley, and right now, I'm listening to a lot of lullabies.

It's actually a play on "uruwashii", since "wa" can sometimes be pronounced as "ha" in Japanese. But "uruwashii" actually means "beautiful" in English.

It was something my sisters came up with, and I have had no intention to change it since then, haha.

But lullabies huh? Those would actually keep me awake if I tried to listen to them while wanting to sleep. I've passed out at heavy metal concerts and had the greatest sleeps of my life there, to the amazement of many.

I have been to Japan a few times and always love it there. As or favorite songs, I've been listening to Nick Jonas's new one.

It's a great country for sure, with all it's contrasts and whatnot. Fukuoka being the most modern city and Sendai being the most traditional prefecture, but the most historical part regarding geisha and whatnot still is Kyoto.
And Hokkaido is just flat out cold.

I haven't listened to that one either, I think! I'm so gloriously bad at this American Pop Culture thing...
